Welcome to Counter-Strike 2D!
This is not your typical counter strike mapping page. This
page features the maps you're used to seeing in counterstrike without the 3rd dimension.
All the maps on this site are detailed floor plans, or overheads, of the most popular
counter-strike maps.
The goal of this site is to supply the average CS
player or the newbie a better understanding of where everything is located on a
map. Newbies can avoid being lost and blown to bits and the veteran can
even pre-plot some planned movements. A team can also use these maps to create
detailed tactical plans and use average image software to plot out
routes and strategies. Check out the Tactical
Gallery for sample strategies made with maps from this site. Currently I have finished
over 20 of the officially released CS maps and I
have a further 21 Submissions by members of the
CS community. You may want to read up on what my maps have in store for
you, so check out my write up "About My Maps". All of my maps are available in English and many of them have been translated to
German, Italian, French, Russian and Hungarian. I have also recently
started up a new section "Sketch Pad"
which showcases ideas for possible maps. Maps in the Sketchpad
only exist in 2D but they might give you ideas to create your own 3D
Counter-Strike maps.
Check out the latest and greatest news below!
What's New! FPS Strat!!
July 23rd, FPS Strat
FPS Strat is a brand new program designed to allow you to make cool
Counter-Strike strategies using the maps here at Counter-Strike 2D. I wanted to
update with this news earlier but such is life. It is a kick butt top notch
program designed by
Daniel Karlsson and his
Clan zOrg.
Check out the great
program here at there home site.
I will be hosting the files up as a mirror in the next few days.
I hope to complete a review of this fan software in the next week or
so.
Good Hunting with the new program,

June 29th, It's been awhile, New Dust2, New Fat
Mansion 2D and a New Sketchpad.
Ok so it's been a long time, much longer than I wanted. I still don't have a
map of Chateau or Havanna, I would love a user submission for either of these
maps. My mapping time keeps getting cut into by other projects. I do have
several updates for everyone:
Dust 2
This is a new rendition of a 2D map for Dust 2 and I rather like it. It looks
very similiar to how the map would actually look in game but it is a lot clearer
than the HLTV overheads. Grab it from
the Dust 2 page.
Fat Mansion
This is a 2D map created by Kampy of a
fairly popular map in Germany. Now available for
download here!
Sketch Pad Map DE_DRAG
New sketchpad for a map titled DE_DRAG.
This one is designed by pino][wessie and hopefully a mapper out there will build
on this idea and make a map for all of us to play on. Grab the latest
Sketch Pad Collection (1700kb)
here.
I'm off to beautiful British Columbia for a week and I will try to update
with some more fresh content when I get back in town including some user
submitted tactics. In other news I'm working on Map Blasting, an article for
CS-Nation that will be written like Gun Running but be for maps.
As always you can just update with the latest
Collected Works in PDF
(3.9Megs) or
ZIPPED GIFS (5.5Megs).
Cheers, Half-Pint
April 8th, It's been a long time
Well I have been busy out of my mind with the stuff of life while I not so
patiently await 1.4 CS and CZ and the new maps that come with them! Expect to
see loads of new content soon after the 1.4 release as I update my 2D maps and
create new ones.
Just the other day this site got it's 3,000,000th hit! That's a lot of
zeros. I set this site up way back in August 2000. I'm still here and it's been
a wild ride. Since this site went online it's consistently sucked away loads of
bandwidth :)
While we await the imminent (meaning in a month) release of 1.4 I have a few
special goodies for your consumption.
The New Site Design:
It is moving forward and the preliminary pic I got from Rizzuh looks sweet.
It's looking like the new design will be in php at 800x600 Click
the here or the image for a bigger version.
2 Separate Inferno Submissions:
I hate turning down good work so I had to accept both of these submissions to
replace the somewhat aging 2D map of DE_INFERNO.
One was created by [-KISA-]DeeKae the other was
created by [EUK]Vertex. As
usual you can just update your COLLECTED
WORKS PDF (3.8megs) or ZIP
(4.8megs).
Wicked 2D Flash of Aztec:
As many of you have probably
seen this. It's a amazing flash animation for 2D strategies, hopefully they
will use one of my maps on future releases.
Well that's all for now, but don't worry I'll be back soon :)

February 11th, CS_ITALY REDUX COMPLETE!!!
Ok so it took forever but it is finally finished. I have redone my 2nd
favourite 2D design, CS_ITALY into a redux
style (this is the OLD
vs REDUX ). I recommend
the PDF its always the best quality. So what's new and why should you care:
-Enhanced eye candy, nice colours etc
(standardized with the DUST REDUX).
-Reduced to a standard 8.5x11 paper, should make it
easier then the old Legal version.
-Transparency effects, now you can see through one
level into the basement, this avoids the crappy look of dotted lines.
-Reference grid using military radio terms (Alpha,
Bravo etc..). It might make it easier to say where you are to friends using the
handy grid.
-Italy 3D picture. This is always handy, now you
can get a little reminder of just what the map looks like in the game.
It looks fantastic. I do realize the new transparency effects are more ideal
for online use then photocopies. Fret not I will make a simpler version in the
next week or so that will be more photocopy friendly :) GO
GRAP THE REDUX NOW!!
You can of course download an updated PDF
(4.2 Megs) or ZIP
(5 Megs) with all of the 2D maps.
Other News:
I did an interview
with Barney aka Narby for CS-Nation and somehow I talked myself into doing a
contest for
CS-Nation. (I think it closed now). The contest is a challenge to name
Barney's new map! Please note the winner of this contest will get a free CS2D
mouse pad with a 2D sketch of Barney's new map. I obviously haven't done
this because well he hasn't finished it yet :)
In the next week or so a big (biggest article the CS community has ever seen)
will go up on CS-Nation. Me
and Rizzuh co-wrote it. But it's a surprise so you will see the details on it
when it's posted.
So much news. Well I think that sums up most of the big happenings. So now
what?
On The Horizon:
-New site design. Apparently Rizzuh's
making a php design for me with comments and everything. I'll get some pics up
as soon as I see something from him.
-CS 1.4 and CZ. While there will probably
only be a few maps in CS 1.4 to make into 2D. I do plan to map out Condition
Zero (the multiplayer maps only).
-Survivor, I'm hesitant to do this map in 2D as I'm not entirely sure if
it will stick around given it's mix reviews. If it is in CS 1.4 I will make a 2D
plan of it.
-Redux, I want to move alot of my maps into the new Redux format but it
is very time consuming.
BTW, I just came back from a vacation in Boston. That city roxors!
Good hunting, Half-Pint
