What do you get when you combine the world of Oblivion and the graphics engine of CryENGINE 2? Well, you probably get about 1FPS! But seriously folks, you get an interesting meeting of the worlds.

Sporting new organic visuals and the original models from Oblivion, here's the first look at a Crysis-ified version of the Imperial City (video removed).

The water does look quite nice. Hopefully the next step in the mod's life will be to up the texture resolution on the imported Oblivion models.

It's beautiful. Just splendid. Well done. Every single tree/tomb stone and places are at it's exact location. With a powerful graphic engine like Cry and beautiful environment and story line like Oblivion really can make this game shine again. I feel like re-install it and playing it again. Again beautiful. I cried. Hehe.

I'm impressed. Oblivion already had a beautiful rendering engine, but Crysis really kicks it up a notch in a few departments.

That said, I think it'd be easy to misinterpret this as a mod that will be released, which is clearly not the case. This is one modder's technology showcase that gained a lot of popularity, without any intent of making a game out of it. Sadly, due to copyright issues, none of us will ever play even the visual tech demo on our own PCs.
