EA Clears up the Bad Company Weapon Microtransactions

EA has cleared up a few things about the fee for weapons that some have seen in the Battlefield: Bad Company BETA.
"Battlefield: Bad Company will release five unique weapons free of charge through five different promotional programs prior to launch," the rep noted. "EA will again make these weapons available to players free of charge after launch, in case anyone missed the pre-launch promotions."

The other five weapons will be made available to players who purchase the Gold Edition of Battlefield: Bad Company, which will be released alongside the standard retail release this June. "For players who do not purchase the Gold Edition of the game, they can still buy the five weapons at a small individualized price per item," the representative continued.
So there you go. Things aren't as bad as we had all previously figured.

Well I say: EA still sucks.

This means a two-tier game, with those who can be bothered to pay for extra mad-skillz having an unfair advantage, via more powerful guns, over those who want to actually practice to improve their skills.

Thanks to EA, its diehard-wierdos: 1 - normals: 0.

And this game going to bow because like you said "extra mad-skillz" "unfair" "advantage" LOL. So true with most EA games.

People are failing to realise that the "5 unique guns" will just be a better looking version of the original guns. They did the same thing with 2142, people who (I think) pre-ordered the game, got a different look for the Lambert Carbine, it looks and sounds a helluvalot' sexier.

Yes, gun (A) will be a bit more powerful then gun (B), but it'll have a high rate of recoil, while gun (B) is not so powerful but has very little recoil. Every damn FPS game has done it, nothing new.

DICE is not a puppet to EA, DICE (like Blizzard) listens to its fans and the community as a whole. People bitched about the Voss, they went ahead and made it less powerfull, people bitched about the Gunship, they fixed that too and so on and so forth.
