As a result, the following is the current list of confirmed ported mods: Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, Team Fortress, and Condition Zero. Will CZ ever be ported into source? For the original post (in French), click here to read all about it.

I want to see some screens for DoD source. I mean, I'm not a fan of DoD but the maps are so cluttered it could probably look really cool in CS:S. |

Glad to hear this from a more official source...someone on the steampowered.com forums posted an e-mail that was supposedly from Gabe Newell himself back on June 23, but I had some doubt as to how legit it could be. |

sounds like a lot of fun.I want to see some screens for DoD source. I mean, I'm not a fan of DoD but the maps are so cluttered it could probably look really cool in CS:S.I think the source engine will only enhance the gameplay of DoD. I am a fan of it, so I look forward to DoD:S. I only fear that it may become something as Battlefield:Vietnam and lose the DoD feel. |

Condition Zero is like a small upgrade to Counter-Strike, why does CS: S need another upgrade and divide the community up? |

I completely support porting CZ over to the Source engine, it will help prevent CZ owners from feeling ripped off. Like some of you, though, I'm wondering exactly what CZ: Source can possibly offer over CS: Source. I'm really hoping that things like the enhanced hostage AI will be found in regular CS: Source, and that was one of the prime non-graphical features of CZ. What's left? |

I personally cannot wait for the inevitable Desert Combat-esque mod for HL2. Also it is noteworthy that a kit will be released that allows for a conversion of all HL1-based mods to the Source Engine. |

Its not that big of a deal. It will be just like it is now. CS and CZ seperate. Perhaps they will join them in CS2, and thats whats (or at least a big part of) going to be so important about CS2. People are all like well wtf could they add for CS2. Well I think that's when CZ and CS will merge. Personally I was hoping most of CZ's features were just going to be forced onto CS:S, however some people would complain. Then again, if those cool features were just left out of CS:S, people would complain. I think porting both games is the best way to please the most people in this situation. |

Just port CZ, and screw the 1.6 cheapskates who refuse to pay for anything in 5 years. The more versions there are, the more everyone gets divided, which is the main problem I have with CZ. |

Edited by SALAMIjedi @ 9:55 pm pdt on 7/8/04 first off all... CZ:CS will have bots... the single player.... ENHANCED DELETED SCENES!!!! (<<< HEY HEY HEY!) basically CS:CZ except... in the source engine. and im sure they have polished the deleted scenes for the source engine. in the end - CS2 will bring everyone together again (at $39.95 per person) with new guns, new scenarios, enhanced gameplay w/ traditional CS style (and noobsters). About Team Fortress 2, its basically (my speculation) going to compete with Battlefield 2. The Difference: less realistic, more explosions (remember the pyro and demo man), futuristic/un-realistic scenarios, (knowing Valve) better netcode, single player story (perhaps, also based on Valve's ambition), wont get as old quickly (Battlefield2 is based on a situation in today's current events). DOWNSIDE: Battlefield2 will look more polished in the end (looks bettter than Half-Life 2 already in some aspects), TF2 might be cancelled due to lack of time. just my 3 dollars and 52 cents :p |

How about we add CZ's bots and singleplayer support to CS:S? It'll be like CZ, and it won't split the CS fanbase up more than it already is. |

Very pointless for there to be a CZ source, what are Valve thinking? CS needs to be ONE like it used to be. Just ONE version which every1 plays and relates to. Come on Valve, surely you can see that!!!!! CS needs to be ONE like it used to be. Just ONE version and 1 community which every1 plays and relates to. Come on Valve, surely you can see that!!!!! |
