cost: $3100 description: this popular ct weapon includes a silencer, adding to the versatility. |
Half-Pint: Easily the most popular gun in the game, especially for the CT. It has very solid hitting power, rate of fire and it even reloads quickly. The price tag is a little steep by comparison to the AK. The Colt has two major things going for it, control and stealth. It's probably the best gun in the game short of an mp5 for going Full Auto and still hitting roughly where you point. In terms of stealth, you have an optional silencer.
rizzuh: The M4A1 is a great weapon. It does have a balance of power and stealth, but it also just plain looks cool. This weapon is balanced in its uses. You can use it as cover fire, long distance rifling, and even close quarter combat. The silencer decreases accuracy and damage, but makes the weapon "seem" (sound) more clam.
Half-Pint: When all else fails, the silencer will probably mean they will shoot towards the one with the loudest gun (not you).
rizzuh: Full auto whilst ducking is also very common place, even with CPL-level clans. How interesting.
Half-Pint: That's for sure this gun seems to respond much better while crouched, I suppose all the guns do but you really notice it with the M4.
rizzuh: I think I implied that quite clearly, jackass.

cost: $3500 description: this is the ct answer to the commando: a powerful assault rifle with a scope. |
rizzuh: You forgot to put something here, clownpot. The AUG is scoped, powerful, and unappreciated. It's a well-rounded weapon, not unlike the M4A1.
Half-Pint: It was on my to-do list, right under "not done yet."
What he said, but I do find it takes longer to reload than some of the other assault rifles. Also, it may just be me, but I think it sounds really loud.
rizzuh: It does have a unique "crack," but that doesn't detract much. The scope here is less bouncy than the Commando.
Half-Pint: I'm not denying success with the AUG, I'm just saying that I enjoy using the Commando more.
rizzuh: Dude, how many times do I have to tell you -- the thin barrel of the AUG is NOT an insult about your manhood!

cost: $2750 description: though weaker than the awp, this sniper rifle can still be powerful. |
Half-Pint: Well, it could be worse, you could have a knife. The scout has a few advantages but on the whole I only like it for the humiliation kill factor. Unfortunately in CS there are two kinds of snipers: AWP whores or idiots who use scouts, oh yeah and there are those who use those semi-autos but shhhh we don't talk about them. I fall into the first category, that's right AWP whore. I just think you're certifiable to buy a scout when it does everything badly and I'd rather have a M4/AK over it. The only nice feature of the scout is that you can rapidly displace and fire fast, which is good because you'll do a lot of running away with this one.
rizzuh: It could be worse, you might have to use skill while sniping. You may think you're an AWP whore, but you haven't seen a real sniper until you've seen a scout sniper. The scout is one of the most powerful weapons in the game and is a great sniper rifle. It allows for high speed moving, quick targeting, and won't get you "stuck", like a slow AWP whore does after being hit. The AWP takes one shot and it goes through everything. The scout takes 2 (or 3) and it goes through everything .. after losing about 99% of its power.
With that being said, it's still more impressive to see a scout sniper than a silly AWP whore. A good scout sniper can take out a good AWP whore -- the scout sniper simply won't be hit.
Half-Pint: Maybe... I just have never seen a good scout sniper that wasn't cheating.
rizzuh: Because sniping with a scout isn't easy to master, those who do can become very good at it. Without cheating. If we go outside, I can shoot you in the face.
Half-Pint: I still disagree with you. If a scout sniper is being overrun he still has to hit twice which will stop him from being able to engage all the enemies while they rush, where a good AWP sniper can take the lot of them.
rizzuh: Which is a good thing. Teamplay is important to Counter-Strike, and being on your own, even as a sniper, is simply a stupid thing.
