when will cs: source be released?
CS: Source has already had quite the life since its initial BETA test back in August of 2004. Primarily released only to those enrolled in the Cyber Cafe program on August 11th, the public test came just a week later on August 18th. Featuring only one model per team and only one map to play on, the BETA still proved to be quite the success.
Below are the dates for the major events in the history of Counter-Strike: Source:
-
» 8/11/2004 - Cyber Cafe's turn on.
» 8/16/2004 - CZ/ATI users pre-load.
» 8/18/2004 - CZ/ATI turn on.
» 8/17/2004 - HL-2 pre-load starts (textures, audio and other stuff that doesn't change).
» 12/20/2005 - Guerilla and GIGN models are released, marking the first time players could be able to choose between multiple character models in Source.
» 3/1/2006 - SAS and Leet Krew models are released
