If you wish to use any content from CS-Nation you must e-mail rizzuh (rizzuh@csnation.net) and ask for permission, if it's granted you must, must post links at the top and bottom of each page using our content. Please use it in the form of 'Content from CS-Nation' or something like that. Just buttons or text links without explanation will not be allowed. Any violation of the above is considered direct plagiarism, which is lame, immoral, and, above all, illegal. After we say you can use our content, we reserve the right to cease your usage of our content (Read: we can say you can use our content, and then ask you to take it down).
Anything posted on CS-Nation that we had permission to post becomes property of CS-Nation, be it design, images, e-mails, news, etc. Submission implies permission. It can all be modified by our staff without permission. Anything entered into our database, besides comments and forum posts, become property of CS-Nation. Being a staff member, past or present, commits to automatic permission to post any content we see fit. Leaving the staff does not mean all the content you've written goes with you.
Fair use does not require an e-mail, but we do request that you still link back to us. For example, if we have a four page Counter-Strike 2 preview up, quoting a few paragraphs for your own preview is defined under "fair use." Fair use is, basically, a small portion of an idea quoted in a way that applies to what you are writing about. When we quote a portion of an interview for a news post, we are legally covered under fair use. So if you do choose to cite our CS2 preview, you may do so. Please keep in mind that, in the spirit of community, it is always kind to link back to us. We'll return the favor if the tables ever turn.
If you are using CS-Nation as reference for a school or educational assignment you may do so without asking. Just like any other source, however, we will need to list us in a bibliography or some sort of equivlant. There are various ways to cite an internet source and as such we cannot list a single one here; please use the best method of citation within the context of your assignment. We are open to answering any questions for an educational assignment; contact rizzuh (rizzuh@csnation.net) to start some communication.
If CS-Nation is in violation of your copyright or trademark please e-mail us (rizzuh@csnation.net) and we will take down all offending material immediately.
Privacy Policy
Each user is assigned a unique id when they register. The id isn't used for tracking of the user and is not stored client side. The id allows the user to change his username, etc. and allows us to ban people. Each time a user posts a comment, votes for a poll, or registers to CS-Nation their IP is stored in their database entry. This also lets us ban people, using their IP instead of user id. IP addresses and e-mail addresses will never be released to anyone, and are unavailable to those outside of the CS-Nation Team who have webmaster level access.
CS-Nation stores a minimum of three, one for username, one for your encrypted password, and one that will keep track of your last visit (for the display of 'new' comments, features, and news items -- this is not stored in our database). More may be added over time, but we will never track our visitors using cookies. In order to fully enjoy the site, we strongly recommend you either allow cookies for all sites or allow them for our site. Here's a guide on how to enable cookies. All of the above in this privacy policy only applies to registered users. Thus, you opt-in if you choose to register an account. If you're not registered, no cookies will be sent from our site to your system.
This applies to all users: Third party advertisers may send cookies. Please consult their privacy policies for more information. Your IP address is stored when you: a) vote in a poll, b) visit an article, c) visit a content page (/view.php/...), d) download a members only file. It is stored for us to develop unique view statistics and non-unique view statistics. Results are aggregated and we have no such code that allows us to 'follow' the path. Visits are not timestamped. A poll vote only logs your IP Address and the poll you went to. An article visit logs your IP and the article id. A content page visit logs the section, subsection, and the page along with your IP. A members only file download adds the filename and your IP to the database.
We reserve the right to make modifications to this policy without informing end-users, as it is not feasible to send out hundreds of thousands of e-mails regarding trivial changes.
