CounterTerror
& Hostage Rescue
Lots of info on some of the most
famous international CT units. Sadly, the site
hasn't been updated for a while and several links lead to pages under
development.
Groupe d'intervention
de la Gendarmerie Nationale (GIGN)
This site is good enough you
would think it's the official GIGN one. All the info you can want on this
famous CT unit, plus overviews of several other French special forces and
counter-terrorism units. In French.
Joint Task Force Two
The official
web site of the Canadian counter-terrorism unit.
Special Operations.com
Specwar.net
Both of these sites offer tons
of information on special forces and counter-terrorist units from around the
world.
D-Net
The official site of the Canadian Forces. Information (including
pictures) on current and past operations, including a large number of
peacekeeping missions. There's also a detailed section on equipment.
Forsvarsnett
The official site of the Norwegian Defence. Limited info
on special forces, but decent material on ongoing operations. Some pictures
are included in the various articles, but the main picture library is not
accessible to the general public. The link above is to the English portion
of the site, for those who can read Norwegian, the main site is
here
Go Army.com
The official site of the US Army. It's flashy and geared
more towards recruitment, but you can still find some useful information
and pictures (the Special Forces section is hidden
here).
isayeret.com
A great unofficial site
providing detailed information on the Israeli special forces.
Official Website for the United States
Marine Corps
The name says it all...
Royal Navy
The official site of the British Royal Navy and their
land forces, the Royal Marines (their page is
here). Also with a lot of pictures and
information.
The
British Army
The official site of the British Army, including an
extensive picture library and information about the various units (the
paratroopers are
here).
