THE SKETCH PAD
This section will showcase the creative ideas people have had for designing maps
that haven't actually been made into 3D. I'm hoping this will let all those who
aren't so good with World Craft sketch out their ideas so that those more in tune
with World Craft can pick them up and base a 3D map off them. All I ask is that
if these ideas influence your maps design that you give credit where credit is
due.
Interested in submitting your own map idea to sketch pad? Send
them here and give me a short description of your idea.
Sketch pad is getting bigger and bigger, you can now grab a Collected
Sketch ZIP (1.7Megs) with all the 16 submissions. It's regularly updated to have
the latest and greatest of sketchpad.

CS_PHENOMENON by Greg
Young (August 30, 2001)
This map is set within a Military Academy. Greg has
obviously put a lot of details into his 2D plan covering all design features from
tables and chairs to what doors are locked. I hope Greg's work sparks the
imagination of someone out there and uses some of his ideas in a 3D CS map.
NEW DEVELOPMENT: I was informed by Greg
Young that a mapper has agreed to work on CS_PHENOMENON
and make it into 3D. So hopefully it will be moving to the submitted category of
2D maps. Whenever the 3D map is completed I will host the file for anyone to try
it out and give feedback to the mappers.
DE_KUIKSTRIKE by Cyber|Snake
(September 1, 2001)

An abandoned office complex is the target for terrorist attack. There are
many points where people can snipe from above or vice versa, these are marked as
railings or minimal cover. It should look like an abandoned office complex.
Giving it a grungy worn down look, this is the kind of thing that should have
creaky stairs and broken windows. The tables that have no box on top of them
should be turned over to provide cover.
CS_NORTHOLLYWOOD by Andrew
L. P. (September 6, 2001)

This map is a dramatization of the foiled bank robbery that occurred in North
Hollywood a few years ago. It's meant to be a quick map, maybe around DE_DUST
length. The map isn't supposed to resemble any actual place, just a typical bank
layout in a city.

Terrorists have taken 4 hostages in a multiple house estate. The
Counter-Terrorists have reached the scene and are infiltrating the area. The
broadband tower is to server as a big sniping tower that overlooks the area. The
fencing around the perimeter are to serve as a realistic boundary for the map
edge. All of the housing units should have both front and rear entry points.
DE_COAL by p!no][wessie
(September 12, 2001)

This map looks like some solid action. The terrorist team is attempting to
either blow up a mine or the nearby mining facilities/management offices.
Counter-Terrorist team is obviously trying to defend both locations. Looks like
a solid mix of open area combat with lots of cool cover and interior close
action combat. Interested in making it? Contact p!no][wessie.

DE_BOATRUN by Pat
Karousis (September 17, 2001)

This map is set in the docks of some naval port. The terrorists are attempting
to blow up a naval ship and the counter-terrorists are attempting to defend it.
It's a cool concept with alot of dock side fighting and close encounters under
the deck of the ship. Interested in making it? Contact Pat
Karousis.

(September 19, 2001)

The terrorist forces have entered a small scab-mine with intent to drive the
miners above ground and hold them hostage by blowing the fresh air intakes to
the mine. Luckly the Counter-Terrorist forces caught word of this plot a few
days in advance and have evacuated the mines. They now wait to ambush the
Terrorists and thwart their plans. Cool story, cool idea and good map design.

AS_TRAPPED by Patrick
Lee (September 24th, 2001)

In this map the counter-terrorists must rescue a vip who is trapped in a
building. The unique feature of this map is that the vip only has 2 CT's which
spawn with him, the rest of the team must fight their way past the terrorists
and then escort the vip to the rescue point. This would create a rather
interesting dynamic of play as the Counter-Terrorists begin the game with
control of the rescue point. Interested in making it? Contact Patrick
Lee.
DE_PERFECTTOWN by -p!no][wessie-
(October 22nd, 2001)

The US government is moving nuclear weapons through a country and have hidden
them in a small village for pickup. But an army officer is working together with
the Terrorists and giving them the information about the whereabouts of the
crates and the transport. The terrorists try to destroy the crates itself or the
cargotruck that has to take it away. The map begins as the CT's enter the
village and the Terrorists have found a good spot to defeat their enemy... Interested in making it? Contact

DE_BANKJOB by Silverbolt (November 3rd, 2001)

Classic heist styled map. This isn't actually a 2D representation, its been
rendered in a limited fashion into 3D. I think it looks great and really helps
to give you a good indication of how big the objects are supposed to be.

CS_SPEED by p!no][wessie
(November 26th, 2001)

This is the 3rd map that p!no][wessie has created for my sketch pad section and
I'm happy to see he's addicted to giving mappers great ideas. This map focuses
on a group of terrorists who flee authorities by taking hostages and hiding out
in a subway system. Unfortunately for them the Counter-Terrorists have laid a
trap by blocking the tracks and sealing the fate for the terrorists, or have
they?

First submission from »<¤G®îM [R]ëäp鮤>«. It has a few items that I don't think belong on a CS map
but it looks like a simple close encounters map.

CS_RESTAURANTRESCUE by Jolle
(a.k.a Stupido)
(January 27th, 2001)
(There isn't a preview picture because its Flash)
Jolle (a.k.a Stupido) based his
design off a mission from the Hitman computer game. The counter-terrorist team
must enter the restaurant from either the basement or through the front door and
rescue the hostages. I really like the idea of using a Flash animation to show
off his design. It's always good to see people try different things.

DE_DRAG by p!no][wessie
(June 29th, 2002)
(No Preview Image yet)
No real theme to it just a teamplay map. Can be made by the starter mapper
with for example dust or aztec textures. The map speaks for itself.
