DE_Prodigy is a great addition to make to my tactical map collection. I have received
more requests for this map in my inbox than any other project I have
worked on. Needless to say I'm happy to get this one done. I found that while
the map itself was easy to create given the semi-symetrical design of prodigy,
it had some weird qualities that set it apart from other projects I have worked
on. The biggest oddity is that while it is one continuous tunnel system the
height of the tunnels very +-5 levels of height making for a roller coaster of a
ride. It was also a little weird because there aren't any outside sections, it's
just one big tunnel.

Prodigy must be one of the best tournament maps in Counter-Strike. It is
essentially a square tunnel with a few rooms in the centre. What makes this map
a joy is that both sides square off at two roughly equidistant choke points. One
in the APC parking lot, the other in a long tunnel cramped with crates. While
cover varies on either side, it does give good positions to camp and advance
from in either direction.
Both teams essentially follow the same rough tactics. Rush to the choke
points and then try to push the line and break through. If you can get through
you loop around and hit the other choke point putting your opponents in a
crossfire. The use of flash bangs, smoke and explosives are essential to success
at these choke points so don't forget to buy some. Just remember to cover team
mates while they advance/retreat and don't go all the same way or you'll find
your back full of holes.
