I had the opportunity to sit down with Beavis007 and Lance from the Texas Area Untouchables. We tried to keep the interviews brief and to the point. Read on..

CS-Nation's lovable Orion: What clan do you currently play for, and what are some of your past clans?
TAU's Beavis007: I play for TAU - Texas Area Untouchables and have pretty much played serious with them for about the past 3 years. No past clans that i've been serious with

TAU's Lance: I currently play for Texas Area Untouchables. Some other clans ive been in are =)SP!(=, -esi-, noEqual, and [BiO].
CS-Nation: When did you begin to play Counter-strike in league play?
Beavis: I started to play CS league play in about beta 6.5 I think

Lance: I started cs late 1.1 a few months before 1.3 came out. I got into cs at school in free time during a Visual Basic class. It must have been just a few weeks after i actually started playing on my own computer, in early 1.3 for a lesser known league called OGL. I started playing in CAL later in 1.3.
CS-Nation: What was the first LAN event you attended, and did you play for a team or just go for fun?
Beavis: First LAN event I attended was a Domain Of Games league lan for fun in Dallas Texas hosted by DoG and Frank Nuccio.

Lance: The first LAN event for me was a CPL qualifier in Ohio with noEqual. I wasn't really nervous, I was just a no name trying to do good and have fun, there was no stress like a lot of people have playing competitve cs feeling like they have something to lose, we didn't get the birth unluckily, DoP decided to go to the same qualifier :).
CS-Nation: How did you meet up with TAU, and how did you get in?
Beavis: I played with a clan called KEG which is where TAU evolved from. Actually SolarCurve and I started TAU. Im the only original member left.
CS-Nation: The CAL and UGS seasons are opening up, WCG is coming up. What are your plans for the listed?
Beavis: We'll we have been working hard to get ready for WCG as well as getting all our travel plans in order. As for CAL and UGS were just hoping to do our best and hopefully win UGS to get the CyberX autoberth.

Lance: We will of course be in CAL, we will also be playing in UGS invite this season to try to get some more practice in and that autoberth for CyberX. TAU is bringing a team to WCG which I will not be attending.

CS-Nation: CAL is trying to bring some new life into the map rotation; do you have any particular thoughts on de_chataeu?

Beavis: I think its a horrid map and the maker should quit mapping or seriously work on his mapping projects.

Lance: That map is so retarded its not even worth putting in the cs 1.5 download. Horrible fps, water noises, and just the layout of the house makes it a terrible map.
CS-Nation: Who would you label as the strongest team in America right now?
Beavis: Well obviously I would say 3D. Though they struggled online they proved to still take the top American spot at cpl. GJ to them.

Lance: As for the strongest team that would have to be 3D of course. They are the most consistent team with great strats and amazing aim. I do not think they are untouchable, but as of right now i dont think many american clans stand a chance against them at a LAN event.
CS-Nation: What would you say was the best match at this year's CPL??
Beavis: I would have to say our match vs mibr was our best played. We didn't know what to expect and prepared in the hotel room watching demos for hours and came out on top. Nicely played by Sladek and Lance as well. Hats off to them.

Lance: 3D vs 4K was pretty intense. It was more about teamwork and smarts shown off by both teams, im sure neither of them had the set strats and tactics they have for other maps.
CS-Nation: Do you have a favorite player?
Beavis: Nope, can't say I do.

Lance: Potti
CS-Nation: A lot of people put emphasis on their mouse/mouse surface/attachments for a gaming edge. Does equipment really matter to you?
Beavis: I can honestly say im probably one of the pickiest players around. If I don't have my own equipment im not a happy camper. So yes it matters a lot ot me. I use a Microsoft Standard Keyboard with Intellieye Explorer 3.0 and a home made mousepad. My secret =P

Lance: I think it does. I don't always say "well hes using this and hes really good so I should use it," but I do think everyone should try different setups and see if it helps them play better.

CS-Nation: Is there anyone you would like to thank for your success, or their support?

Beavis: Well big shoutouts to Solarcurve and got_lead? from TAU who always supported me and put me in the right direction. I probably wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them. And to everyone who supports me and TAU. Thanks again!

Lance: theres a lot of people but i'll try to keep it short. ProfessorSnake, SlicedAcid, Ball, farmsex, jay, Jubei, everyone in BiO and RBC, and everyone that idles in #tau :p. and Beavisface
I'd like to thank Beavis and Lance for their time, and giving CSN the great chance to learn more about two great players!
